Mind Your Own Business !
What do a real estate agent, a winery owner and a marketing communications consultant have in common?
They all decided that sponsoring an educational video series was a smart idea.
Chris Drozda (The Chris & Lisa Team), Louis Gaal (Blue Gypsy Wines) and Tom Graham (T.D. Graham + Associates) are just three local entreprenuers who've added their businesses to the list of sponsors of "Mind Your Own Business" (MYOB), a series aimed at helping local business people market and grow their business.
Created by Alicia Wanless (@CrowderHouse) and produced by John Barclay (Triune Arts) in association with TVCogeco, MYOB's pilot episode "Heritage Tourism" aired last fall to appreciative viewers. Encouraged by the response, Barclay pitched a series that would interview a wide variety of local business owners who would provide tips and ideas on a range of business issues, including using social media, developing business plans, providing excellent customer service and conducting market research; just to name four.
Partial funding for production was raised through the Grenville Community Futures Development Corporation's Local Initiatives Program (FedDev Ontario) and an in-kind contribution from TVCogeco.
Airing on TVCogeco on April 23rd, with over 25,000 wired households and webcast on BNTV.ca on April 30th, with 50,000 unique visitors per month, Mind Your Own Business will reach an audience of over 100,000 potential customers every month. The series will also be distributed to the educational market worldwide through Triune's Enjoyable Learning website.
A short promo is currently airing on Triune's YouTube channel, "triunearts". Local businesses are encouraged to take advantage of an opportunity to help educate the business community while accessing affordable television and internet exposure by reserving a sponsorship spot.
